Boise has no shortage of web designers. Do a quick google search for "web design boise", and you'll see page after page of web design company websites.
Nerdy Dragon, as you're probably aware, is a collaborative business. We've had the good fortune of working with many web designers in the treasure valley. We've taken over accounts from some, and have competed on bids for projects with many, and collaborated with some on projects when they were a good fit. There are some great companies, and some that are in a bit over their heads.
It's not feasible for any one small web design company to tackle any type of web project. The web is too vast, diverse, quickly change, mis-understood, and with very little precedent. It's the wild west, when it comes to web design and development, with little direction for businesses with web design needs to find a vendor that will work for them best.
Some businesses want to showcase what they do, and encourage people to contact them to do business. Others sell products online, host events and allow registrations, and some need to inform a specific audience. Sites sell advertising, host video's, handle large traffic volumes, support many user accounts and diverse user generated content, and others run entire businesses.
That's what so exciting about web design, the businesses needing web design and development are so diverse, fascinating, and unpredictable. On some projects, we apply best practices to developing a system or implementing a concept, on other sites, we innovate unchartered territory, and deliver value through the web in new ways.
Some web design companies in Boise are very good with graphic design, however they have difficult creating sites that are maintainable, and thus, increases the expense of SEO efforts and ongoing maintenance/enhancement of the site.
Some Boise web design companies are excellent with design, analytics, SEO, and limited in their software development capabilities. How is web design priced in Boise? Web design projects are difficult to price compare. In many circumstances, the project are bid as an entire website. We can break down, what it takes to put a design together that will be the template for a website.
This template sets your basics, colors, fonts, heading sizes/colors, layout, and so. Generally, designers will provide a "Homepage Design Mock-up Image", which is the most basic first step of many web design projects.
To create a good mock-up homepage design concept, it takes innovation. Do we have a logo to work with, what are our navigation menu's, where are they, how should we direct viewers eyes through the page, what do we ask visitors to do, etc.
The answers to these, require a good understanding of your target demographic, and a good plan to quickly capture their attention and get them to understand the value you and/or your site provides them.
For most sites, this process can take 5-15 hours. Of course, it's not in the time it takes, but rather what is produced by taking the time. We've seen pricing from $100 to $2,000, generally closer to $500-$1,000.
This is just a first step in the web design process. It still has to be turned into search engine optimized website code, integrated into a content management system, or somehow added to the web. This is the process that separates many design companies. Some are not quite suited to convert good graphic design into website code, and others excel at it.
